Corrections Meeting Minutes 7 / 17 / 99

Punk opened the meeting at 3:15 PM

Iva, Punk, and ___________met with major Asbury.

Topic: Big Books

They will be deposited in the library. Inmates get them off the library cart. Asbury said they were not getting Big Books. 16 pods----allowing 4 Big Books per pod.

Serveral groups are donating Big Books, but cannot be found. Inmates hiding them, 30.

Inmates cannot give or receive names and phone numbers.

No more materials, brochures, or Big Books, after quota of 4 Big Books per pod.

Punk will check. Also will check on storage space.

Felonies: people with prior felonies cannot volunteer.

Time: 7:00 PM

Will not take volunteers after 6:55 PM, volunteers therefore need to arrive

at 6:45 PM.

Women’s * One individual spoke to Sgt. Cullen and was screened, though she

* No mingling after meetings. Protection of inmates, jailer, and
